Senior Spotlight
The students chosen for Senior Spotlight I feel could use revision. I'm sure I am not the only one who can say Sandi Baker and the Cave Club deserves a spotlight over Lane Thole's political opinion. We seriously need to rethink a few of them and be sure that they are going to be interesting and appeal to the rest of the student body, aside from the jocks.

Placed Ads
Riley and I placed the Lane's, Penco, Salon Fusion, and fixed the A-1 vacuum ad and placed it in. We scanned the new Eric Thorsen card and sent it over to Marissa's computer, but we didn't fix it yet.

Tirerama and Big Sky Sunglasses ads
I have Riley working on the Sunglasses ad with a few changes so it is not ready to Place in the layout yet. The Tirerama ad needs to be resized. I can't remember if we did or not. I do know I showed the issue to both 4th and 7th period.
We need to vote on layouts. I had Brittany organize them on the table. Vote for one each of Opening, Sports, Senior, and Underclass layouts.

Spirit Week Coverage
Austin is filming during float building and Annie is taking pictures. Last year we missed the parade in terms of video. We need all the royalty in cars. We need cheerleaders and band for senior video and highlights to go on the school website. Homecoming and Spirit week pictures are also needed for the yearbook layouts.
Tuesday, September 18, 2012
We are having the final "Yearbook Theme" vote today. After that we need to work on templates for Opening, Sports, Seniors, and Underclass layouts. Here are the enrollment numbers by class.
9th-79
10th-64
11th-68
12th-57
However, Dylan Carlson, Hannah Edwards and two foreign exchange students are listed as juniors in those numbers. All four will be seniors in the yearbook because of early graduation. So 12th=61 and 11th=64.

Grads and Party
Annie is going to take pictures at graduation and Lane is going to video. We need one other photographer on the D80 a second videographer would be good too. We will need to get the video camera equipment over there and setup on the stage Friday 7th period. We need to capture the complete processional, student speeches, and hat throwing.
We then have to get all of the equipment charged and moved to the athletic club, including the projector and the 27" Mac. Lane has agreed to help me.

change to club layout
Just wanted to make a note that I changed the club layout a pinch. I made the text box in the middle of the pages bigger, because it was hard to fit too much writing in it. This means that the coordinates for the left-page box:
x: -2.9792 in and y: 3.2679 in
And the size is: W: 2.7113 in and H: 0.8214 in
x: -2.9792 in and y: 3.2679 in
And the size is: W: 2.7113 in and H: 0.8214 in
And the right-page box:
x: 0.2679 in and y: 3.2857 in
And the size is the same as above.
So if you have a club layout, make those changes. Thanks!

New layouts and stuff
Hey! I'm just writing to say that I can do the One-Desk-for-a-Day layout (whatever we end up calling it). Also, since I know a lot of the seniors are working on sports videos, I can start on the senior video. Eventually, that'll end up needing all of us, but I can begin the work. Is there anything else? I don't have many layouts, so I'm trying to help out where I can...

To Kalea!
Hey! I was looking for something to do today, and Mr. Roberts told me to look at your club layout. First off, I really like it. Is it the first layout you've made? It's really good! I did mess with it a little, though, and I wanted to explain what I did.
I changed the title font, just because I'm a font snob. I also changed the ovals at the bottom to circles. It's silly, but I find ovals to be more of an effort to look at. Like they take your brain a little longer to process or something, I don't know... Then I rounded the corners of the squares ( at 0.2), so they match the curves of the circles. Then I did the same with the text boxes (but at 0.1). I also changed the color of the title. This was just so I could see it easier, because the title and text boxes will change colors for each layout (depending on the background, etc.). Mr. Roberts wants to turn the opacity of the text boxes down so they blend in better, so we'll mess with it when we get to that point.
Anyway, I think that's it! Thanks so much for making the layout in the first place, I think it'll look really great in the yearbook.

More Changes to the Sports layouts.
During editing we discovered a few more issues with the sports layout. Generally pictures can go to the dashed line. However, text should stay inside the magenta line. It is possible to put text outside but we want to avoid it. It is possible for text to be cut off when it is close to the dashed line. In a picture losing a few pixels of it wouldn't really matter.
Anyway, please adjust the following:
1. Change all the captions to 9 point from 10.
2. Move the small circle frame to a top left position of (x=-6.0069, y=5.9653)
3. Move the caption for the small circle to a top left of (x=-7, y=6.1806) size (w=2.2125, h=1.2436)
4. Change the caption to read RIGHT instead of BELOW.
5. Drag the article so that the top left corner aligns with the magenta corner. (x=-7, y=0.5087)
6. Set the article to (w=4.4861, h=5.533)
7. Move the captions and the dots on the right page to align with the magenta line. If you select them all you can move them all at once. Also if you hold down the shift key after they are selected you can move them to the left without moving up or down.
8. I forgot. Also move the dots on the left page to top left position: (x=-6.9792, y=5.9111)
9. Edit/Select All and then Lock Position of all objects.
Anyway, please adjust the following:
1. Change all the captions to 9 point from 10.
2. Move the small circle frame to a top left position of (x=-6.0069, y=5.9653)

To Halisia:
I'm editing my layout and made some changes to the article but not finished, what part is weird though and should probably just come out? Because if it's the beginning then I don't know how to start my article, any ideas? What do the brackets mean? Do they mean take out or maybe fix, or that part is confusing? Take a look at the new article too. I'm working on getting some specific stories to add into it as well. How can I fix the little pictures that are really confusing? Like what's confusing about them? Hahaha I'm sorry I know this is a lot of questions but I never get to see you in person so I thought I'd use the blog.

Backgrounds
I've finished some more backgrounds. They are in the Art & Images folder under the name "Yearbook Backgrounds" and they're also on my desktop under the folder "Backgrounds." My computer is number 218 (Username is 218 Halisia). Here are the titles for the following layouts:
Sophomores Page 1 - greenbluestars.tif
Sophomores Page 2 - purplebluestars.tif
JV/Frosh Vball - yellowmosssplotch.tif
Vals Soccer - greennavy.tif
Winter Formal - greypurple.tif (Sorry, this background is changing. The current one will go to another layout)
Just kidding - we need them for the senior layouts
Also, the sophomore backgrounds turned out weird when they scanned. Depending on how they look with the layout, I may rescan and edit those.
Thanks!
